don't usually go this route on the ole blog...

...but I'm in my office taking a break from reading for class and thought I'd share some of the thoughts and nostalgia that are going through my heart. Having baby number three feels shockingly normal, eerily normal. Like I'm sitting in class unaware that I've forgotten the paper that the prof is about to collect. While Carolyn is nesting a bit in the last few days, I've felt nothing but excitement, the kind that wishes tomorrow had arrived last night. We have friends who say the third was their hardest and other friends that say it was a blip on the radar (except for those first 6 weeks...). We're hoping for the latter and the potential of taking it all in. We go to the hospital Thursday night and deliver Friday morning! Well...not "we." We go, she delivers. You know the drill but just so we're all clear that I only come away from the event with a sore hand from a thorough squeezing. And then Margaret (Meg) will be here. Family of 4? Nope. 5. My two girls...my three girls. Can I be gentle enough? Patient enough? Thank God I know God...especially for those first 6 weeks! Thanks for your prayers and support. We are profoundly grateful.

Class starts tomorrow (Spiritual Formations coinciding with a Eugene Peterson conference). I've got 7 hours of I75 in my near future...

2 weeks of 14 hour days...

...and we have a semi-setup house. We had a New Year's Eve party at the house with our Community Group friends. The deadline was motivation. Still much to do, but here's some pictures of what's here now, as per your request Ms. Cochran! Living on support makes me tend to give a defense for the expense (or lack thereof) of all the components to the addition, but I'll refrain and, instead, be glad in the provision of God and those that have helped!
